Sundays Are Meant for Outdoor Trekking on Traverse City’s Old Mission Peninsula

Snowshoe, Wine & Brew Announces Winter Excursion Dates — Online Sales Open Now at TCBrewBus.com

(Traverse City, Mich)—Winter made its grand entrance in a big (and early) way this year, putting some in the mood to get out and enjoy the beautiful snow-covered wonderland of northern Michigan. Those who wish to quietly trek through the countryside, soaking up the natural beauty of the season, are sure to enjoy the return of the Snowshoe, Wine & Brew treks every Sunday, December 29 through March 8, on the Old Mission Peninsula in Traverse City. Outings start at 11am (except for January 19 and February 16, when the start at 10am) and run throughout the day until around 3:30pm.

“This is a one-of-a-kind event for northern Michigan, offering a unique progressive tasting of wine, beer, cider and spirits at three popular venues along the Old Mission Peninsula,” says Troy Daily, founder of the award-winning TC Brew Bus (presented with the “Most Innovative Tourism Collaboration Award for Experience Development’ at the 2017 Pure Michigan Governor’s Conference on Tourism).

This seasonal tour begins at Jolly Pumpkin where guests board the TC Brew Bus for the quick jaunt over to Brys Estate Vineyard and Winery to sip on up to five different wines inside the warm and cozy tasting room. From there, trekkers follow a 3/4-mile flagged trail across the Old Mission Peninsula to Bowers Harbor Vineyards where another five wine (or hard cider) samples are offered. Next, it’s 1/3-mile back to where it all started at Mission Table tasting room attached to Jolly Pumpkin for the final five samples of beer or spirits conclude the day.

No snow? No worries…these outings run every Sunday either way (the trails are suited for hiking even if there is no snow). Want more vino or cider? Both Brys Estate and Bowers Harbor feature $5 glasses of wine specials during the course of the day. You can even hang out and huddle around the outdoor fire pit at Bowers Harbor to enjoy the great outdoors. Want to take home souvenirs? Each of the participants is also offering 10% off bottle purchases and the TC Brew Bus will even make sure they get back to Jolly Pumpkin so you don’t have to worry about carrying them along your hike. Guests are encouraged to check in on Facebook at each of the three stops and get their ticket stamped to receive a souvenir wine glass at the end of the tour.

Tickets are $28 per person (snowshoe rentals are an additional $15) and are on sale now at TCBrewBus.com/events. Space is limited and reservations are required as shuttles are scheduled at select times.

Snowshoe, Wine & Brew isn’t your traditional wine tasting experience. Located along the famed 45th Parallel, the Old Mission Peninsula draws on its proximity to Grand Traverse Bay to provide ideal conditions for growing wine grapes, hops for craft beer and plenty of lake effect snow – making the Snowshoe, Wine & Brew an ultimate Pure Michigan adventure.
