Camp Forever Fun Offers Unique Adults-Only Camping Experience in Southwest Michigan
Adults are going back to summer camp —
this time with drinks and no curfew
Summer camp isn’t just for kids anymore.
In southwest Michigan, adults are spending their weekends riding horses, jumping off docks, and gathering around campfires—before ending the night with music, drinks, and no curfew.
It’s called Camp Forever Fun, and it’s been running for more than a decade.
“It’s summer camp, but for adults,” said founder Joel Reisig. “You’ve got cabins, campfires, group activities—but now people are showing up with their friends, having drinks, and just letting loose for a weekend.”
A different kind of weekend getaway
Located in Bloomingdale—about 2.5 hours from Detroit, 2 hours from Ann Arbor, 1 hour from Grand Rapids, and 2.5 hours from Chicago—the event draws groups of friends, couples, and solo attendees from across the Midwest.
The idea is simple: recreate the best parts of summer camp, without the rules.
For $399, guests get an all-inclusive weekend that covers:
- Lodging in shared cabins
- All meals
- Drinks throughout the weekend
- Access to activities and entertainment
There are no add-ons, no upsells, and no surprise costs—something organizers say sets it apart from traditional festival-style weekends that can quickly climb past $1,000.
Camp by day, social energy by night
During the day, guests rotate through classic camp-style activities: horseback riding, zip lines, canoeing, water trampolines, arts and crafts, and group games.
At night, the focus shifts to bonfires, music, and dance parties.
“Camp Forever Fun is really about people,” Reisig said. “It’s a place to reconnect with friends, meet new people, and actually enjoy the weekend. It’s not a frat party—it’s a social experience.”
Not just for groups
While many attendees come with friends, plenty show up on their own. The event regularly draws:
- Groups of friends planning a getaway
- Couples looking for something different
- Solo guests open to meeting new people
- Birthday and celebration groups
Organizers offer group discounts for parties of four or more, along with private cabins for larger groups.
A concept that keeps growing
Camp Forever Fun has been running in Michigan for more than 10 years, building a strong base of returning guests.
It has also been featured by:
- The Travel Channel
- VH1
- Hour Detroit
- Michigan Blue Magazine
With limited capacity each weekend, spots tend to fill quickly as word continues to spread.
