Lady Americana Midwest Supplies 400+ Beds for NEW Embassy Suites in Downtown Grand Rapids

When the 250-room upscale Embassy Suites Hilton Hotel opened in downtown Grand Rapids last week, each room was outfitted with a mattress and box springs handcrafted less than eight miles away, at Lady Americana Midwest.  In all, 90 King and 318 Queen Bed sets can be found within the 7-story hotel located at 710 N. Monroe, overlooking the Grand River. It is the first Embassy Suites in West Michigan and is under the management of Suburban Inns.

Lady Americana Midwest worked closely with Suburban Inn’s to engineer a mattress that would meet the stringent Hilton specifications while providing a higher quality component package for extended “Comfort Life”. The mattress then became the Signature Plus by Suburban Inns and carries the tag line

“This is How We Sleep” coordinating with the “This is How We Hotel” corporate mantra of Suburban Inns. A custom label was even created for each of the bed sets within the hotel.

“In a hotel, is it all about the sleep experience and Lady Americana provides a superior product,” says General Manager Brian Behler about the hotel’s choice for its complete bed line.

“We are honored to have worked with Brian and his team at the Embassy Suites in order to develop the best sleep sets to fit the needs of their guests,” says Sales Manager Tim Westrate, who has been with the company for nearly 40 years. “Our ongoing priority is to make mattresses that exceed industry standards and expectations… products that last longer and provide a better investment for the hotel in the long run and exceptional sleep for every guest”

Since 1945, Lady Americana has been handcrafting the highest quality mattresses in Grand Rapids and today is recognized as a leader in hospitality sleep sets. Without the burden of national brand advertising and name brand recognition overhead, Lady Americana can remain committed to higher quality components. Recognized for the Ameri-Spring® continuous coil innerspring design and Ameri Guard patented steel-encased perimeter side-support system, Lady Americana mattresses are built to distribute the weight of two sleepers equally, producing a better nights’ sleep even when the person is traveling. Lady Americana also utilizes higher quality upholstery foams to provide luxury sleep and durability.

On average, the Grand Rapids factory produces over 12,000 sets per year—inside its 20,000-square-foot factory. The company employs more than 20 people who take pride in their work, contributing to the “Sleep Better, Live Better” philosophy.

In addition to the Embassy Suites, Lady Americana works with other noted Grand Rapids hotels (including several being built currently). Their beds can also be found throughout Boyne USA Resorts in northern Michigan, Montana and Maine; The Henry Hotel Marriott in Dearborn and Hotel Santa Fe in New Mexico, as well as boutique properties such as City Flats in both Holland and Grand Rapids, Huron House in Oscoda and Hotel Saugatuck, among countless others.
