Grab your morning beverage and join us to learn more about five bird species! Each month, we highlight birds that you can find in our southwest Michigan backyards, woods and waters during this time of year.

Birds and Coffee chats are held from 10 to 11 m on the second Wednesday of each month, via Zoom. The online chats are free, but registration is required to access meeting details.

Autumn species of focus include:

October: Water birds—Great Egret, Green Heron, Pied-billed Grebe, American Coot and Double-crested Cormorant.

November: Diving ducks— Ruddy Duck, Bufflehead, Common Loon, and Common and Hooded mergansers.

December: Birds rare to Michigan— Roseate Spoonbill, Western Meadowlark, Whooping Crane, Cattle Egret and Clay-colored Sparrow.
