Run, walk, or jog on the scenic Kalamazoo River Valley Trails with the Michigan Nature Association!

This 5K will promote efforts to preserve habitat for monarch butterflies throughout Michigan. Monarch butterflies are one of the most recognizable and beloved butterfly in North and Central America. Millions of monarchs migrate across the United States; spending their summers in Michigan and winters in Mexico.

Families, strollers, and pets (on a leash) welcome! The Kids Fun Run to start at 10:30 am! Kids can run a 1 mile race prior to the 5K starting at 11 am.

Kids 1 Mile Fun Run: $10
5K Run/Walk: Early registration is just $25 ($30 day-of)

Volunteers are also needed! We’re looking for energetic individuals and organizations to provide great customer service to our 5K participants. Interested in helping with registration, monitoring along the course, handing out medals? We have a spot for everyone!

Packet pickup begins on race day at 9:30 am at Mayor’s Riverfront Park, 251 Mills St., Kalamazoo.

**This event is part of the Race for Michigan Nature, a statewide series of Family Fun Runs & 5Ks stretching from Belle Isle in Detroit to Marquette in the U.P. Win a prize for participating in all 6 races! Learn more:

Our races are endorsed by the Michigan Fitness Foundation’s Governor’s Council. They are offering the Pure Michigan FITness Series Challenge, where participants can win prizes after accruing points in running in events across Michigan.
