Classical Mystery Tour at the D&W Fresh Market Picnic Pops is more than just a rock concert. The four musicians, who look and sound just like John, Paul, George and Ringo, present more than two dozen Beatles tunes exactly as they originally were recorded, from “Yesterday” featuring a string quartet, to “A Day in the Life” using the full resources  of the Grand Rapids Pops.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ “White Album,” Classical Mystery Tour has added a special segment of songs including “Dear Prudence,” “Revolution,” “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da,” “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” and others from the album released in 1968. From the Fab Four’s earliest songs into their solo careers, Classical Mystery Tour is the best live concert The Beatles never gave.

Arrive at the concert early and enjoy pre-concert entertainment featuring guitarist Chris Bursley.

Gates open at 5:45 p.m. for picnicking and pre-concert activities including children’s crafts and a musical instrument petting zoo. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m., Thursday and Friday, July 18-19, at Cannonsburg Ski Area, 6800 Cannonsburg Road NE.

Tickets in advance start at $20 adults, $5 students for lawn seats. Table seats and reserved chairs also are available. Call the Grand Rapids Symphony at (616) 454-9451 or go online to
