Harbor Springs Historical Society to Host Club Ponytail Reunion Party on August 25 at Nub’s Nob

The Harbor Springs Area Historical Society invites you to relive the glory days of northern Michigan’s most popular teen club at Club Ponytail: A Reunion Party on Thursday, August 25, 2016 beginning at 5:30 pm. Held at Nub’s Nob Ski Area, this throwback party of the summer will feature live music from The Boyfriends, an original Club Ponytail band.

Tickets include a picnic dinner featuring hamburgers, brats and grilled chicken, salads and more with a cash bar. In addition, party goers can check out Club Ponytail memorabilia and hear a short presentation on the club by historian Rick Wiles.

Club Ponytail was a teen club that opened in 1962 in the old Club Manitou building on Pleasantview Road in Harbor Springs. Club Ponytail enjoyed enormous success and drew national and international bands like the Beach Boys and the Animals to their stage. Though a fire destroyed the club in 1969, its history and the stories of those who spent their summers there remain. You won’t want to miss this chance to reminiscence and reunite with friends, neighbors and fellow “Tail goers.”

The fun begins at 5:30 pm with a chance for guests to grab drinks and food before Rick Wiles’ presentation. His talk begins at 5:45 pm and will run for about thirty minutes. At 6:30 pm the original Boyfriends band will take the stage and knock out some classic tunes.

Tickets to Club Ponytail: A Reunion Party are $35 in advance and $40 at the door with all proceeds benefiting the Harbor Springs Area Historical Society.

Tickets can be purchased by visiting the Harbor Springs History Museum, by calling (231) 526-9771 or online at www.HarborSpringsHistory.org/shop.
