Urban Roots is a Grand Rapids non-profit dedicated to connecting people to the soil and to the table. Their mission is to cultivate durable and resilient families, communities, and ecosystems through urban agriculture. It is exciting to watch your food scraps and junk mail turn into a valuable garden amendment! This class focuses on realistic and achievable ways you can divert your waste and decrease your contribution to the waste stream. You will learn about collection services, worm bins, Bokashi, and yard compost piles in this very fun and lighthearted class. Program will be held rain or shine, and take place indoors and out. Please wear closed tow shoes and bring a bottle of water. Parking is available across the street from the farm.
